Frequently Asked Questions About the Model EP-325

- How does the Model EP-325 differ from other models?
The Model EP-325 is a large, heavy-duty
patient lift. Its base and frame weigh over 50 pounds more than the
Model EP-110. The Model EP-325 also has two
other crank adjustments - one raises and lowers the
foot base and the other widens and
narrows the wheelbase.
The Model EP-325 uses an offset column (to the right of the transferee's
legs). This patient lift has a single
knee pad for both legs - usually preferred by individual's whose legs
spasm together.
- My need is for a patient lift that will work with many patients. Is
the Model EP-325 suitable?
Yes - especially if the population of clients is adult size. The Model EP-325
adjusts quickly. It does not require moving a bolt to change column height -
instead, you simply turn a crank.
- Can we turn the crank to raise and lower a patient while they are on
the patient lift?
This is not recommended - although it is sometimes done. The gear
reduction crank is designed for light loads. If one does adjust the patient
lift up or down with a client "on board," it should be done with caution
- because the client's position on the patient lift is changing. If done,
height adjustment with a client on the patient lift should only be done with a
chair or bed behind the patient.
- Does the optional adjustable elevating foot base attach to the
patient lift?
The Model EP-325 does not need an elevating
foot base for shorter persons,
because it incorporates one in its design. Simply turn the crank and the foot
base raises or lowers.
- Tone causes my clients foot to occasionally moved from the foot
base. How can this be prevented?
See our accessories for heel loops, toe loops
and other special items. Special foot
plates can be provided at your request.
- Can the two-piece (split chest pad) be added to the Model EP-325?
A two-piece split chest pad may be
added to the Model EP-325. It uses the same
bolt pattern so this can be done in the field. The two-piece chest pad is
designed to accommodate tracheotomy and ventilator tubing. The "slot" between
the two chest pieces is a variable width.
- Is the patient lift shipped assembled?
All of our EasyPivot models are shipped assembled - but "knocked down."
Assembly takes five minutes and requires only a wrench. Written instructions
are provided. Our toll-free (800) 467-7967 customer support number is also
available.
- Our patient has wide thighs. Is there a bigger knee pad available?
There is a wide knee pad available
for the Model EP-325. It does bolt to the
same pattern as the standard one - so installation is quick. It is offset - so
the extra knee pad width is in the direction opposite of the column.
